-Safety Yeremiah Bell is featured in The Sporting News' 'secret weapons' segment of their NFL season preview.
-Barry Jackson tries to sort out the Dolphins' roster with what is clear and what is unclear with some key positions.
-The Palm Beach Post has a piece on rookie punter Brandon Fields. If you're into that sort of thing. Man, remember how nuts everybody went when the Fins lost Donnie Jones to the Rams? What the hell was that all about? Dolphins fans getting worked up over a punter. Sad. Anyway, Fields is supposedly opening eyes in camp and was a stand-out in Saturday's game against the Jags. So we can all finally relax and breathe now.
-A poignant piece on undrafted WR David Sutton, who has been looking pretty good at camp so far. Another fine article from Carl Kotala over at Florida Today.
-Armando Salguero suggests that RB Jesse Chatman could be gaining on Ronnie Brown. While I think Brown is a superior runner to Chatman, I do think Chatman is a very talented running back. I liked him back when he backed up LT with the Chargers. He's a great change-of-pace back and has always been a guy who can find holes or make them on his own. He's also familiar with Cam Cameron since the two worked together in the Whale's Vagina San Diego. I don't think Ronnie is in danger of losing his job -- not to Chatman, anyway. But I do think Salguero is right about Chatman's potential. A lot of people dismissed Chatman's performance last Saturday saying he ran against Jacksonville's second-team and outside of his 75 yard TD, only produced a total of 88 yards (which means you take away the TD run and he only ran for 13 yards, which is like saying you take away A-Rod's homeruns against the Devil Rays, then he only has 31). That's true to an extent. But Chatman is making a name for himself in camp and was the one bright spot for the offense in the Jacksonville game. Chatman is not NFL-starter material. But Lorenzo Booker and Reagan Mauia are rookies while Corey Schlesinger is good for the goal line and 4th and short runs. And if Chatman puts some heat on Ronnie's tail, all the better.
