This is awesome.
The Sun-Sentinel's Harvey Fialkov reports that a full on brouhaha broke out on the practice field this morning. The fight started after a routine passing drill when CB Will Allen went after WR David Kircus and started wailing on him like a kid who missed his daily Ritalin intake on a piniata. Allen was apparently upset about a hard block Kircus laid on the cornerback a few plays earlier. Armando Salguero says that Allen rained blows down upon Kircus while the receiver just curled up into a fetal position on the ground and took his beating good and proper like a disobedient bitch at a prison yard. I would feel bad for Kircus. But then again, he's a total fucking douche. So fuck him.
Allen then walked off the field, and order was restored. Until he was tackled by another offensive player from behind. Fialkov says it was probably tight end Sean Ryan, while Salguero says it could've been Ryan, or Reagan Mauia, or Anthony Fasano, or Boomer Grigsby, seeing that it was a throng of dudes in a blur of dust and blood (emphasis mine). My bet is that is was Grigsby. Because, c'mon, "Boomer beat up some guy" sounds more believable than "Sean beat up some guy."
Once Will got jumped, the bench emptying brawl commenced with coaches blowing whistles and throwing flags, bar stools flying out of windows, drunkards punching horses and old ladies hitting hobos with their umbrellas. Things were eventually calmed and practice resumed without further incident. Best part of all, no one appears to have gotten injured. Whew! I'm all for fights and tempers flaring and guys showing a little toughness. But we're already down a cornerback and our receivers suck ass, so we can't afford to lose any more people.
