Much like The Dude alluded to earlier, it seems the entire world is waiting on us to rid ourselves of Favre and the Patriots in the playoffs for at least one goddamn season. We are more than happy to oblige. We know what we've got to do and we know that we have a unique opportunity to seize a great moment. It's rare that you can see, anticipate and capture a great moment in all its potentiality prior to it happening. Usually the great moment happens and you can only appreciate it historically. It whizzes by and you await the next opportunity at greatness with incredible anticipation. Yet, here we are with a great moment waiting in the wings with all the will and momentum we could ask for. If the season ends Sunday, well it was an incredible ride. This season has been more fun than any I can remember since beginning my undying love for this team. So many unsung heroes performing at critical junctures. Players that were left for dead have shown renewed signs of life and an awe-inspiring ability to lead. Players we never heard of have performed admirably. There have been masterful performances that have brought smiles to our faces and luck - the one thing we haven't seemed to have any of for some time - revealed itself beautifully in game after game. So, on Sunday, even if we get the same old Dolphins for one game and we really shit the bed, we can turn off the TV and manage a smile because this was one remarkable season and one in which the deep fascination I have for this team was rewarded with inspired play and true grit.
But we won't have to worry about any of that because come Sunday we're beating the living shit out of these unfortunate fucks and sending that insufferable farmhand back to Mississippi.
The Keys
I'll spare everyone from rehashing what we already know and what we've read all week. Let's just go in there and get a little bit of revenge for our QB, for our franchise and for our fans. The Jets have owned us for far too fucking long and it's time to go in there and break some goddamn mouths. It's going to be an incredible game and I can't fucking wait for it.
