The Dolphins have told left guard Justin Smiley not to join the team for the off-season conditioning program because it plans to trade him, according to a source close to the team.
Smiley, a six-year veteran, has been the team’s best guard when healthy, but he’s missed five games - and eight starts - the past two seasons because of leg and shoulder injuries.
Well this is certainly a wild turn of events. Remember when everybody was all excited after the team signed him back in 2008? Well the concerns addressed on this here blog seemed to have proven us correct. Dude was an injury concern (see, we're more than just tits and dickjokes, man!). And it seems like the the Fins prefer Richie Incognito and his gamma ray-induced fits of rage over a guy who is constantly battling injuries.
And you know what this means: Justin Smiley will eventually end up with the Houston Texans where he will have a Pro Bowl season while each of our offensive linemen spontaneously combust one at a time. True story!
