If you’re to believe Chad Henne’s recent solid pre-season performances are a sign that things will go from suck to, awwww riggghhhhttt… then you might want to know it’s all because that old sack of balls Dan Henning isn’t around to fuck shit up any more:
In the wake of two consecutive solid performances, Henne already has proved to be a better leader than last season. But Daboll’s offense, which puts more trust and faith in the quarterback running it, might be the real reason for the improvements.
Combine a huddle that respects him with an offensive coordinator who trusts him enough to change plays at the line of scrimmage, and you’re starting to see a quarterback who could finally put his unquestioned physical tools to use.
So I guess this is good news. Chad Henne does have an incredibly annoying habit of completely obliterating any hopes of success his play might have promised (ask pretty much any Michigan fan, and then look at his body of work as a Dolphin). So we'll see if his newfound freedom finally turns him into the franchise quarterback we've been waiting for.
But, hey. The handcuffs are off. He doesn’t have to deal with that crazy old kook Henning anymore. And he’s free to audible at any given moment. Which means No FUCKING EXCUSES from here on out.
The positives to giving Henne so much freedom now is that he’ll play with more confidence (he’s a delicate and dainty fella from the neck up) and use his laser-rocket robot bazooka arm as he sees fit.
The negatives are, of course, that he can now fuck things up in a more monumental way than ever before.
And, as scientists in lab coats can attest to, giving a robot this much freedom is always a treacherous endeavor.
A robot made self-aware and given his freedom? Did the Dolphins not ever watch The Day The Earth Stood Still or any of the Terminator movies including the shitty ones after T2??? It’s almost as if they’re tempting fate!
