Some jackass Dolphins beat writer thought it would be a good idea to ask Karlos Dansby what he thought about the whole Suck For Luck thing. And, as one would expect, Dansby's response was delightfully nuanced with a very interesting take and perspective on the matter. In which I mean he was really fucking pissed off about it.
"It's not right, bro. It's not right," Dansby said. "We put too much into this, man, to have the fans say that – period, point blank — or even promote that campaign. It's kind of sad."
I'm a professional athlete that takes pride in completely underperforming every week even though I was brought in to be this defense's catalyst! I don't put these pads and chancletas on for nothing, dammit!
Dansby also said the Suck for Luck movement "pisses me off" and said those that support it are "not real Dolphins fans."
Fans are naturally angry right back at Dansby for being such a dick about it. But don't be too hard on the guy for answering this way. He's a pro and he's mad that his fans are turning on him. It's understood. Also, he created another FN meme with that brilliant "It's not right, bro" line. So there's that.
This whole thing is really the media's fault for even asking him about it in the first place.
But we're dying to get player reaction on what they think about the fans wanting them to lose based on fan indifference caused by years of futility! We MUST know what a guy that plays football professionally thinks about this! Since it was the fans who started this campaign in the first place, it's our job to get a guy who's only concern in life is his own self interest what with the fragility and cut throat nature of playing this sport for a living and all! We're the official "voice" of the fan, we are. Because we know better because we get to see them PRACTICE every day!
Oh media, how you love to run shit into the ground and ruin it for the rest of us. Don't you go a-changing!
What the media doesn't get (particularly guys like this dipshit) is that we don't want the Dolphins to tank on purpose. We just think that we should be rewarded for our undying loyalty even with all the monumental sucking that's been going on for the better part of a decade.
Our thinking is: If we're gonna suck (again), let's REALLY suck this season so we can land a great player and get away from all the sucking once and for all. The problem is there are a lot of other teams that suck too. So, it becomes sort of a backwards race. While teams like the Patriots, Saints and Packers are trying to win as much as possible against other good teams to get a Super Bowl, we need to lose as much as possible against other bad teams to get an Andrew Luck. There is nothing to be gained with yet another 6-7 win season. NO-THING.
Got it now, cockheads?
No one is asking Dansby to lay down and play like shit (he doesn't need us to tell him that, he's doing just fine without us). We're simply rooting for a season of as much losses as possible to land us a QB that will end the fucking misery once and for all. This is why I said it's all on Ross to make this happen. I'm not asking anyone to tank. Just keep doing what you do, Dolphins. Suck the shit out of this season! WE KNOW YOU HAVE IT IN YOU!!
No need for these Dolphins to play badly on purpose. They're already dead last in converting first downs, among the worst defenses in the league, and have consistently failed to pressure the opposing quarterback or create turnovers. Even Karlos would have to admit that it's impossible for them to fake that.
