PFT (via Arrrrrrrrrrmando) is reporting that Eric Mangini has been secretly consulting Stephen Ross on the Dolphins. And before that, he was reportedly consulting the Eagles, which he denied much like he probably denies a celery stick:
Armando Salguero reports that Mangini regularly talks to Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, giving feedback about the state of the team. Mangini also reportedly had a meeting scheduled with Miami last January about a consultant job. Salguero writes repeatedly that Mangini is not and will not be a candidate to coach in Miami, going as far as to capitalize NOT. But his relationship with Ross, which started when Mangini was with the Jets, begs further questions.
Whatever Eric's been telling Ross has obviously been working. I'm all in if it means he furthers our chances to Suck For Andrew.
Unless it's all a ploy to weasel his way into becoming our next head coach. And why wouldn't that be his plan? The guy is sneaking around and making deep throat-like phone calls with football team owners and calling it "consultation."
We're on to you, asshole! If you want to wreck a football franchise again, you're going to have to do it the old fashioned way and get a real job with one. Just not ours.
