• The Rams are expected to take Chris Long. When the NFL Network dudes asked Rams GM Billy Devaney about it, he tried to act coy and said, "All I can tell you is that our pick is going to be a pillar for our defense." And laughed at his own cleverness. Haha... eat a dick Billy Devaney.
• The Herald's David Neal expects the rest of the Dolphins draft to focus on the defense.

Fins Get Akin Ayodele, Anthony Fasano from Dallas

The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that the Dolphins traded their only 4th round pick (100th overall) to Dallas for linebacker Akin Ayodele and tight end Anthony Fasano.

Fasano, 6-4, 265 lbs, was a second-round pick in 2006. In two seasons he caught 28 passes for 269 yards and one touchdown. I'm not entirely sure, but that's about 269 yards and one touchdown more than David Martin.

Ayodele, meanwhile, started at weak side inside linebacker for Dallas last season and recorded 57 tackles. He was a third round pick for Jacksonville in 2002 but signed with Dallas in 2006 as a free agent. He was recently in the news for saying how he wasn't going to roll over for Zach Thomas in Dallas. Now he'll have to roll over for Reggie Torbor in Miami.

Draft Thoughts: Totally Meaningless and Arbitrary Predictions

Because the draft is a damn coin toss anyway.... so here we go:

Pick #32 Prediction: I�m going with my gut here. My gut tells me it�ll be Chad Henne. My heart hopes it�s either Derrick Harvey or Quentin Groves (if available).

Prediction #1: Parcells will use a first day pick on a tight end. Brad Cottam out of Tennessee and Kellen Davis out of Michigan State are my predictions.

Prediction #2: They will try their damndest, but JT will not be traded this weekend. At least not for a second-rounder (especially not a first-rounder). If he goes, it�ll be for a third-rounder. But, at the end of the day, I�m going to say no one will bite.

Prediction #3: Matt Ryan will take a Brady Quinn-like fall.

Prediction #4: Parcells will use the full 10 minutes of the first pick. Because he�s Bill Parcells and he can do whatever the hell he damn well pleases. Got it, cockrocket?

Prediction #5: The Fins will draft a DT. My prediction: Frank Okam, Texas

Dark Horse Candidate That I Really Like: Eastern Kentucky CB Antwaun Molden. 6-1, 198lbs, 4.3 speed. Should be there in the 3rd round. 

Biggest Fear #1: That Darren McFadden will end up with the Jets. God that would suck balls to no end.

Biggest Fear #2: That Vernon Gholston will end up with the Jets or Patriots. Guh.

Biggest Fear #3: Bears. Bears are evil, man. Evil. Also, I'm a little afraid of lizards.

Specific Player Prediction: The Dolphins will look to fill their guard position and depth by drafting Mackenzy Bernadeau from Bentley. Fuck them if they do. Because nothing is more irritating to a blogger who already relies on his spell check way the hell too much than having to spell a name like that all the time.

Final Prediction: I won�t be getting laid this weekend. NFL Draft Weekend is pretty much Dudette repellent. It�s like what Off! is to mosquitoes. Not. Gonna. Happen. Ah well�

Draft Thoughts: What About Beck?

I�ve received a few e-mails asking me why I keep bringing up the QB spot in this draft, and we thought you liked John Beck, and we have 4,756 positions to fill besides the QB position, etc. And a few that say that Beck sucks and that Joe Flacco rules.

But I like John Beck. I like him a lot. I am a John Beck fan. I think he has a real future and getting him a massive wall of protection in Jake Long will do wonders for The Mormon. In fact, I was the very first Dolphins blogger to come out and support the pick and tell the masses to chill the fuck out when we drafted him last year after passing on Brady Quinn. Nothing has changed for me since then. And I agree that we have more pressing needs to fill. However, I�m just going with what the reports have been saying and the reports have been saying that Bill Parcells likes Chad Henne and Joe Flacco. I also personally believe that Parcells wants to draft his own quarterback, even if he has warmed up to Beck. My only problems with Beck are his age and his ball delivery. I argued last season, mostly on forums and other blogs' comment boards, that in college he had a lot of balls batted at the line of scrimmage. I got blasted by others for saying so. Fuck those people with a lead pipe. Beck's quick release is phenomenal, but that delivery needs work. Others like Ron Jaworski and Omar Kelly agree. Beck's not the tallest QB in the world, and a couple of inches in his throwing motion would make a world of difference, so hopefully he's been working with Diamond David Lee on that.

However, all that said, I do like Brian Brohm. I�ve always been a fan of his. Last year I was really hoping he�d enter the draft so we could get a shot at him. I think Brohm is going to be a stellar quarterback in this league and I think that Brohm is better than Beck. But I also think he�s the only QB in this class that�s better than Beck. I think Beck is either better than or on par with every QB in this year�s class outside of Brohm, and that includes Matt Ryan, Henne, Flacco and the others. Brohm is the only QB I personally would focus on in this draft. Otherwise, I�m happy with Beck and I am a full supporter of The Mormon, his magical undies and his promise of a fine future as quarterback of the Miami Dolphins. Disagree? You think Beck sucks and we should go after a QB in this draft? Well screw you! Just kidding.* Feel free to let us know your opinion in the comments.
